The Zion Lutheran Youth Group held their annual Vendor Fair this past Sunday Dec. 5th. Above are some of the vendors. Lisa Talsma also took pictures at the event. The Youth Group would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support. They are grateful for the wonderful turnout.

December 1911 Frank S. Pelton, the Watkins Man, has moved his family from Springfield to Avon and will occupy the L.D. Baker residence. Brock's has two pounds of Christmas candy for 15 cents. Jack Hamlin is back in Avon at the Blacksmith Shop. You will find him at Ridway's putting out fine work.

Mason Johnson is the son of Mark and Samantha Johnson. He is a six year old in Mrs. Dawn Kocmich’s kindergarten class. Johnson has five siblings: Ava, Sydney, Evelyn, Lillian, and his twin brother Gabe. He also has two dogs named Bailey and Lucy.

Trenton Soukup is the 14-yearold son of Troy and Shirely Soukup. His siblings are Cody and Ashley Soukup. He raises cows and has two dogs. Although he worked this summer, his favorite pastime is to hunt. As an eighth grader, his favorite class in school is math with his favorite teacher, Mr.

Jill (Bertus) and Devin Tolsma both grew up in Avon and are now alumni of Avon High School. Devin graduated in 2015 and continued his education at Mitchell Technical College. Jill graduated two years later in 2017 and also went to Mitchell Technical College.

The ACT (American College Test) is a standardized test that is used as a part of college admissions. This test covers English, math, reading, and science. On November 30, the junior class took an online ACT practice test to help them prepare for the real ACT when the time comes next spring.

Hayden Talsma, 15-year-old son of Tina and Jerry Talsma, is a sophomore. He has one sibling, Hensley. Talsma has many cats, two dogs, and 20 horses. His favorite class is choir, and his favorite school lunch is chicken strips.

Avon was well-represented at Region Oral Interp qualifying all attendees for State Oral Interp in Huron on December 3 and 4.

This wrestling season Avon has three wrestlers: Brady Bierema (11th), Tyler Tjeerdsma (10th), and Al’Shamon Gunter (8th). All of them have been wrestling since they were in 2nd and 3rd grade and are looking forward to improving their skills and making it to the State Wrestling Tournament.

Avon Drama Department is starting the signup process for this year's two act play. The performance will be April 9, and it will be a comedy, but not a musical. The play is titled How I Met Your Mummy. The play is a farce made up of eleven characters.
