Frank S. Pelton, the Watkins Man, has moved his family from Springfield to Avon and will occupy the L.D. Baker residence.

Jack Hamlin is back in Avon at the Blacksmith Shop. You will find him at Ridway's putting out fine work.

Brock sold and delivered a fine $400 piano to F.C. Bangert.

Dan Rueb returned home for the holidays on the train Tuesday.

The Christmas program will begin at 6:45 sharp at the Baptist Sunday School on December 23rd.

December 1935 Several Christmas programs are given in the rural schools on Friday. Free pancakes and coffee next Saturday in Avon.

Mr. and Mrs. Angelus Brandt are the parents of a baby boy born December 14th.

Dave Quartier and Cecil McLane both have jobs in Klamath Falls.

James School program will be December 20th.

The Avon basketeers defeated Tyndall in the last minute on Thursday 17-18. The second team lost 23-21.

Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday, the temps reached 20 below zero. The cold wave caused some cancellations.

The First Presbyterian Choir will present a Christmas concert Sunday at 2:30.

The luckless Pirates were waxed by Wagner 59-40. Jan Pier hit for 15 points. They also lost 58-47 to the Tabor Cardinals.

Mark Pier was honored on his 5th birthday with a party for his friends.

The Trinity Presbyterian Ladies had a Christmas program on Dec. 10th with Mrs. Kenneth Mudder presiding. A skit "Circle of Love" was given.

December 1986

Rev. Gregg Donaldson has accepted a call to Iowa. He and his family will be moving in January.

Several houses reported vandalism with outdoor Christmas lights and decorations.

Funeral services were held for Olive Ratzlaff at the Friedensburg Mennonite Church on Dec. 15th.

The Pirates show promise in their first 2 wins over Bon Homme and Wagner.

Santa Claus day is Saturday. There will be movies at 1:30 at the Legion Hall.
