The Wagner Rotary Club was called to order by President Rachel Woods on Wednesday, October 19th. The members were led in prayer by Rotarian/Pastor Bill Heermann. Guests were introduced by Amanda Bechen who had brought her assistant Kristina Ymker and Faith Spotted Eagle.

The Wagner Competitive Cheer Team traveled to Watertown to compete in State Cheer on Friday, October 21st.

Plans are underway for this year's Veterans Day Program which will be held Wednesday, November 9 at 2:45 p.m., at the Avon School Gym with a special one-act play presentation by American Legion Auxiliary.

During half-time of the Friday night football game, members of the 2002 Champion Avon Pirates Football Team gathered to be recognized for their 20th anniversary.

The Avon Marching Pirates performed "Blinding Lights" by the Weeknd on October 7th. The band was directed by drum major Erica Cahoy. Color guard members include: Madelyn Huitema, Kaydence Metzger, and Bree Vanderlei.

Pheasant season opened on Saturday morning. Shooting is allowed from 10 a.m. until sunset for the entire season. Three rooster pheasants are allowed each day, with a possession limit of 15 roosters total, it is illegal to shoot hens. The Fathke's had 20 hunters for their annual pheasant hunt.

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thunder Cross Country team is state bound after all runners qualified for the State Meet last Wednesday, October 12, in Burke.

Every day in the clinic or hospital I meet extraordinary caregivers. They are the ones who have gone above and beyond the call of duty; sometimes for years at a time. When you ask them how they do it, they shrug and smile. I am not talking about any doctor, nurse, or therapist.

On Saturday, October 15, Oral Interp traveled to Brandon Valley for the Speaking Lynx Tournament. After 3 rounds and finals, our Reader's Theatre was awarded 2nd place! Reader's Theater consists of Presley Slaba, Jackson Rolston, Trenton Rolston, Charley Kocer, and Macee Stimpson.
