The Avon Marching Pirates performed "Blinding Lights" by the Weeknd on October 7th. The band was directed by drum major Erica Cahoy. Color guard members include: Madelyn Huitema, Kaydence Metzger, and Bree Vanderlei. Senior band members include: Madilyn Mudder, Gwynevere DenHerder, Jonathon Hento, and Justine Martin. Although it was a chilly morning, the students put on an excellent performance. They played along with fifteen other bands around the area. The band placed 3rd in: Marching Execution, General Effect, Woodwinds, and in Color Guard. 4th place was awarded to the band in Music Execution and in Percussion. Overall, the band placed 4th with the next placement being only three points away! The students had a wonderful season and are now getting ready for their Fall Concert on November 7th.
