KOCER REPRESENTS AT MIDWEST REGIONAL YOUTH OF THE YEAR

Shona Kocer, daughter of Francis and Karla Kocer attended the Boys and Girls Club of America Midwest Regional Youth of the Year in Chicago, IL on June 27th. The event was held at the theater on the lake on Lake Michigan.

We had an early start Monday, June 17, as students met in the Sioux Falls airport for what was supposed to be a 5 a.m. flight to Minneapolis on their way to the Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

LAKE ANDES KICKS OFF FARMERS MARKET SEASON

The Lake Andes Farmers Market held their first market of the season this past Tuesday, June 18th. The farmers market is sponsored by the Lake Andes Food and Wellness Council. The Lake Andes Food and Wellness Council was first able to begin this community program through a Connected Community grant.

Madilyn Janis of Lake Andes has taken her love of fastpitch softball and joined a SD traveling team, the Mt. Vernon 14U Venom. Madilyn first began playing with the Venom last year as Wagner did not make it to the state softball tournament.

Jackie Miller has officially retired from the Andes Central School District after teaching there for the past 34 years. Her love of children is what kept her working for the district so long.
