Wagner Rotary Club had a distinguished guest on Wednesday, August 28th, for its weekly meeting. Ina Winter, newly elected District 5610 Governor was in Wagner as part of her tour of all Rotary clubs in the 5610 District which encompasses South Dakota, part of Iowa, and Minnesota.

MEET YOUR NEW AC SCHOOL TEACHERS

Amelia Spotted Eagle is the new Preschool teacher. She graduated from Ihanktonwan Community College with a BS in Early Childhood Education and is currently enrolled in Masters of Education Program at State Glaska University.

10 Years Ago - 2009 Charles Mix County asked cities to designate emergency shelters. Don Putnam of Armour hit a hold in one on August 22 on Hole #7 at Randall Hills Golf Course. 20 Years Ago - 1999 Ground-breaking ceremonies took place for the new street light at the Fort Randall Casino.

ACTION CONTINUES AT WAGNER SPEEDWAY

A nice evening of racing Friday night at Wagner Speedway. The feature results in Hobby Stocks was Matt Goth #17 getting the win from Madison, 2nd place finish was James Hoeing #61 from Kimball and 3rd place to car 1X Clifford Houser of Kimball.

VETERANS TO BE HONORED AT FESTIVAL IN THE PARK

All Veterans will be honored at a special time during the 2019 Festival In The Park. This special honoring time will be held in front of the Veterans Memorial on the south east side of the Wagner City Park. The Memorial is also close to the entertainment stage area as well.

WCMH-AVERA AMONG STOPS FOR U.S. REPRESENTATIVE DUSTY JOHNSON

U .S . Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S .D .) visited Wagner and Lake Andes last Friday to meet with the Yankton Sioux Tribe, tour Wagner Community Memorial Hospital, meet with local community leaders and tour flood damage around Lake Andes.

QUEEN CONTEST JUDGES

Dr. Carolyn Geis grew up in Wolsey. She is the Area Veterinary Supervisor for the southeast region of South Dakota based out of Mitchell. Erika (Arpan) Tordsen grew up in Wagner and graduated from Wagner High School in 2012. She currently lives in Sioux Falls with her husband Tyler and two dogs.
