MEET YOUR NEW AC SCHOOL TEACHERS

Amelia Spotted Eagle is the new Preschool teacher. She graduated from Ihanktonwan Community College with a BS in Early Childhood Education and is currently enrolled in Masters of Education Program at State Glaska University.

She previously taught at Marty Indian School and Ihanktonwan Community College.

Amelia is originally from Enidi, Oklahoma. Her hobbies include bead-work, quill-work, sewing, baking and all things crafty.

She is excited about her new school year as "Early Childhood is such a fun age."

She was attracted to the AC School District by the community. Andes Central is where she started her educational journey when she moved to South Dakota. Since then, she has made lasting connections with families.

During her first year she hopes to establish a caring classroom community where her students feel safe and loved. Also she hopes to have fun all year!

The thing she enjoys most about teaching is that every year is a new journey. You learn more about yourself while inspiring students for a lifetime.

Amelia is married to Kip Spotted Eagle and has two children, Tokana (5) and River (1).

David Novak will be teaching Middle School Social Studies. He graduated from Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Major in Physical Education and Minor in History.

He previously taught at Volga Christian School and student taught at Madison Middle School.

David is originally from Tucson, Arizona. His hobbies include sports and video games.

He is excited about the new school year as it's a new adventure with a subject he loves.

He was attracted to the AC School District as it's a new place and he has the opportunity to teach social studies.

During his first year he hopes to help students understand that learning can be fun and to make school joyful for all.

David most enjoys teaching as he gets to meet new people and watch students growth throughout the school year.

David is married and they have three cats and two dogs. He also loves to play baseball and has played since he was seven years old.

Brooklyn Tolliver is the new 3rd grade teacher at Andes Central and middle school volleyball. She graduated from Briar Cliff University in Elementary Ed.

She previously student taught at Dakota Valley.

Brooklyn is originally from Wagner. Her hobbies include camping, being outdoors and traveling.

She is excited about the new school year, the staff has helped take some nerves away.

She was most attracted to the AC School District as it's close to home, it's a small district and has an awesome atmosphere.

During her first year she hopes to build a great bond with her students that allows everyone to succeed.

What she enjoys most about teaching is watching her students grow.

Melissa Storley is the new 9th ELA, ACT Prep and Music teacher. He graduated from NSU with her Masters in Education.

She previously taught at Tulare, Britton, Wagner and Redfield.

Melissa is originally from Roslyn. In her spare time she enjoys crafting and home remodeling.

She is looking forward to the new school year and working with new staff as everyone has been very welcoming.

She was attracted to the AC School District because of the new beautiful school and a terrific staff.

During her first year she hopes to build relationships with the kids and staff at Andes Central.

What she enjoys most about teaching is that she loves kids!

Phillip Raysby is the new 5th grade teacher at Andes Central. He graduated from USD with a Major in Elementary Education and a Minor in Reading.

He previously student taught at Wagner Middle School.

Phillip is originally from Springfield. In his spare time he enjoys wood working.

He is excited for the new experience during this new school year.

He was attracted to AC School District with the need to help students and the one on one interactions.

During his first year he hopes to gain knowledge on how to become a better teacher and make connections with his students.

What he enjoys most about teaching is getting to help students achieve an understanding of the world around them.

Racheal Arpan is the new MS/HS Special Education Teacher. She graduated from USD with bachelor in Elementary Education and Master in Special Education.

She taught previously at Andes Central from 2000-2008 and then Marty Indian School from 2009-2019.

Racheal is originally from Lake Andes. Her hobbies include reading and watching her Chicago Cubs (Go Cubbies Go)!

She is excited and a bit nervous about her new school year.

She was attracted to the atmosphere and staff and students at AC School District.

During her first year she hopes to get to know and build relationships with students and staff and help her students be successful.

What she enjoys most about teaching is helping them to grow as individuals.
