WAGNER GOOD SAMARITAN SOCIETY MAKES BLESSING BAGS FOR LOCAL FARMERS

Wagner Good Samaritan Society’s Helping Hands group has been meeting at least once a month collaborating on projects to benefit the community. In the past, the group has made prayer blankets, back to school bags for the kids, and the most recent project was Blessing Bags for the farmers. Many of our residents were very involved in the community and enjoy the opportunity to give back to others and make a difference through various Helping Hands projects. The most recent project was targeted to reach out to the farmers in our community during what has been a really tough year. Residents decorated the front of the bags with “Thinking of You” and “Wishing you a Beautiful Day” messages and then the group brainstormed different items to put in the bags. Dietary Manager Kelly Martin helped order all the various foods and then we met to fill them up and sent them out to different places around town. We want the farmers to know we care and you are in our thoughts. You are so important to our community and we are sending prayers! The Helping Hands group is open to all residents as well as any community members who would like to help. Right now, the group meets every third Wednesday of the month at 11:00 a.m. Call Halie Kirwan, Activity Director, at 384-3661 if you are interested in being a part of this group or would like to donate.
