Rotary Lunch Meeting – Wed. April 15, 2021
President, Bryan Slaba rang the meeting to order.
Everyone stood to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
Pastor Bill H. gave a prayer.
We had two guests in attendance: Amanda B. introduced her associate, Kristina Ymker and Rachel W.
Norman Woods and some of his children (Terri Rezac, Cheryl Smith, Julie Dennis, Frank Woods, Steve Woods, and Dana Woods) recently met with members of the Wagner Cemetery Association to make a monetary donation in the amount of $3600 for improvements to the Wagner Cemetery.
This year’s honorary referees for the Avon Invitational Track Meet are Allen and Lori Cihak. Allen a 1982 graduate of Avon. Allen and Lori have three children graduates of Avon, Derek (2011), Mitchell Technical Institute (2013) and farms in the Avon area, Mallory (2014), Mt.
Monday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m. the music department hosted the Big and Little Dance in the Avon School’s main gym. The event piggybacks on the Prom using their decorations and theme to help make the evening more festive.
The kids took their “dates” down the aisle for the Grand March.
After a year without, on March 27 Avon High Schoolers got their fancy on...Welcome back Prom. The theme of the Prom was Unmask the Night.
The evening began with the Banquet at 6:00 p.m. Attendees had the option of beef or pork. The Grand March was open to the public at 8:00 p.m.
Avon’s senior class of 2021 traveled down to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for their senior trip. They left on March 24 at midnight and returned March 26 at 10:30 p.m. The group included ten seniors and two chaperones, plus the bus driver!
On March 30, Ali Sees, Kristen Namminga, and Makayla Kopp hopped in a van with their physics teacher Paul Kuhlman heading to the Scotland Quiz Bowl, traditionally referred to as the Scotland Pizza Bowl.
The children of Don “Dakota” and Betty Woehl invite you to an open house to celebrate their 50 th anniversary from 4-6 pm on April 24, with a dance to follow at the Scotland VFW Club. The couple requests no gifts as your presence is a gift in itself.
Michaela and Andy Schultze are proud to announce the arrival of their son, Bennett Nash Schultze. He was born on March 11, 2021 in Overland Park, Kansas. He weighed 7 lb. 7 oz and was 20” long.
