STUDENTS “UNMASK THE NIGHT” AT AVON PROM
After a year without, on March 27 Avon High Schoolers got their fancy on...Welcome back Prom. The theme of the Prom was Unmask the Night.
The evening began with the Banquet at 6:00 p.m. Attendees had the option of beef or pork. The Grand March was open to the public at 8:00 p.m. From there, it was all about the dance from 9:00 to12:00 a.m.
At 12:00 a.m the attendees went into the auxiliary gym to have After Prom till 4:00 a.m. After Prom hosts supplied walking tacos and dessert. For their After-Prom, there was an inflatable obstacle course, an inflatable Velcro wall where you put on a velcro jumpsuit, and you would get on the inflatable velcro course and jump towards the velcro wall and try to stick to it! The next inflatable was for jousting. Four kids with four “lances” would go into the jousting arena wearing helmets, and they would “play” fight. Also, there were darts, a photobooth, and bean bag toss for other activities.
At the end of the night, there would be prizes for the attendees. They would give awards by each class beginning with seniors, then juniors, then sophomores, and then freshmen. Each class was called, and they had to draw a number. In the order of their numbers in their class, they got to choose their prize.
Also while the After-Prom was going on in each class, four people out of the entire class got the chance to win a certain amount of money by throwing a dart at balloons to win the money. Seniors got a chance to win 100 dollars, juniors 75 dollars, sophomores 50 dollars, and freshmen 25 dollars. After everyone got their prizes, they called the names of the out-of-town dates to give them a gift card. Then they let all the attendees go home.
