On March 30, Ali Sees, Kristen Namminga, and Makayla Kopp hopped in a van with their physics teacher Paul Kuhlman heading to the Scotland Quiz Bowl, traditionally referred to as the Scotland Pizza Bowl. At the quiz bowl, teams competed against other schools, and who ever got the most questions right won.

A total of twenty questions were asked each round. Each question a team got right earned the team 10 points, plus 10 more if you won the match. After beating Wagner and Menno, Avon suffered one loss the whole day from Scotland. As points were tallied, Avon and Wagner came in a tie with 420 total points for first place.

It has been multiple years since Avon has come out with the first place medal!
