RUSH CO AWARDS LOCAL YOUTH WITH SCHOLARSHIPS

Each year, Rush-Co looks to employ local youth to assist them during the summer. This year, Rush-Co employed seven local youth. Owner, William Shorma, presented the following youth with Scholarships/Scholarship Certificates.

INTERACTIVE MOVIE NIGHT AT THE AVON PARK

The Avon Public Library ended their Summer Reading Program, Tails and Tales, with an interactive movie night on Monday, August 2. Participants met in the park and were given props and scripts to interact with the movie, Finding Nemo. About 65 children and adults were in attendance.

The view in front of the Avon School changed a few months ago due to the absence of a notable community landmark. However, the public need not be worried as the old Avon bell is set to return after safety concerns are addressed.

August 1911 Frank Edwards lost a wheel on the mail route Monday. He didn't go far before he noticed something was wrong. Fox has a new two and a half ton steel oven. He can bake 112 loves of bread at one baking. Frankie Hanson is enjoying himself in Chicago.

The 14th annual Cancer Walk was held at Wagner Lake on Saturday, August 7th . The event included supper, Survivors' picture, an "Empty Chair" service, balloon release, walk around the lake, root beer floats and fireworks. Photography by Denelle
