Frank Edwards lost a wheel on the mail route Monday. He didn't go far before he noticed something was wrong.

Fox has a new two and a half ton steel oven. He can bake 112 loves of bread at one baking.

Frankie Hanson is enjoying himself in Chicago. He has witnessed several of the big league games.

July 1935

Ralph Pier and his little son, Dicke, age 4, are reported to have malaria and are now in Yankton. This is quite rare but has been verified by blood tests at the state university.

R.W. Griffith and his two sons, Reid and Jimmy, took in the circus at Mitchell.

A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gus Wittmeier on Friday.

July 1964

The Mets take the South Central League Crown as they beat Scotland 19-12 to make their record 12-3. Lesterville was sec ond with an 11-4 record. Playoffs start on Sunday.

Two young men were arrested at 12:30 a.m. for disturbing the peace and fined $10 plus $4.70 costs by Night Marshall Kenny Mudder.

Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Lagendyk, Linda and Sherry, returned home from a trip to Yellowstone.

Attorney John Engel moved to his new office in the old Shamrock Café building.

The Mets dropped the first two games of the play offs to end their season.

Mr. and Mrs. Gus Hento were guests in the Rich Hento home in Mitchell.

The Avon Swim Team traveled to Hartford for a swim meet. They then hosted the James River Valley Championship Meet. Travis Rauch was the High Point winner in the 8 and under class and Jason Alberts was the trophy winner in the 11-12 year old class.
