MITCHELL, S.D. – Due to COVID during 2020, the Dakota Wesleyan University athletic department inducted six of its newest members into the Athletic Hall of Fame on 09/25/2021.

Joe Stedronsky, Jerry Henke, Linda Soukup,Amanda Bechen, Bill Herrmann, Patty Frei, Jeff Doom, Becky Brunsing, Bryan Slaba, Rachel Woods, Gerrit Juffer, Kathe Henke, Laurie Kidd served at the Fellowship Feast.

The Wednesday, November 3rd Rotary Meeting convened with the ringing of our Rotary Bell by Bryan Slaba, President for 2020-2021. There were no guests present so Pastor Bill Herrmann was called to give a blessing. He gave thanks for the beautiful day and the bountiful meal prepared for us.

The City Library will be participating in the Trunk or Treat Event at the Andes Central School parking lot on Thursday, Oct. 28th from 4:00 to 5:30. We will be handing out books and apples as our treat! Come and visit us!

Members of the Wagner Community School Board earned an award for their dedication to enhancing their knowledge of school board work during the 2020-21 school year.

The Wagner Red Raiders were on the road again this week to compete in the Harrisburg Oral Interp Contest. The contest consisted of 10+ teams from different towns from class B, A, and AA.

Fall always puts me in a literary mood, perhaps because the South Dakota Festival of Books is held in late September or early October. I relish the opportunity to listen to writers discuss their books and always leave inspired to work on new projects.

American Legion Auxiliary to Greer Post #11 submitted by Jeanette Fuchs, Secretary. Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary met on October 21, 2021 at the Post home with 15 members present. The meeting was called to order by President Juanita Stone. Chaplain Margie Stone opened with prayer.

American Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on October 21, 2021 at the Post Home with 28 members in attendance. Commander Clayton Rados called the members to attention. Chaplain Donald Kotab gave the invocation, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
