Greer Post #11 American Legion

American Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on December 21, 2023 with 37 members in attendance. Commander Clayton Rados thanked the cooks for the delicious prime rib meal. Chaplain Don Kotab gave the invocation which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

SANTA AND HIS REINDEER MAKE STOP IN WAGNER

Wagner had four furry visitors in its community on Tuesday, December 19th. Four beautiful reindeer were available for pictures and viewing at Wagner’s First Dakota National Bank. First Dakota sponsored the community event from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the bank parking lot.

KAREN KUHLMAN - 40 YEARS OF SERVICE AT COMMERCIAL STATE BANK

A very familiar face will soon be retiring from Commercial State Bank. Karen Kuhlman is set to retire Friday, December, 29th. After 40 years of service to Wagner and the surrounding communities, Karen will clock out for the final time.

Godwin Weston and Juanita St. Pierre would like to proudly introduce the birth of their twin great-grandchildren, Roseline Lynn James and Henry Weston James born to Amari Weston and Chaz James. What a great gift!!!

TALENTED BAKER AND YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR, BRYLIE LINK

At 15 years old, Brylie Link is a young talented baker. Brylie has been baking since she was eight years old. She started baking at a young age with her grandma, Jolene Link, and ever since has been using all the tricks and tips that her grandma has taught her over the years.

FEEDING SOUTH DAKOTA

Feeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Friday, Dec. 22 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon. PLEASE NOTE: Proxy pickup (picking up food for someone unable to attend) is allowed with a completed form.

CLASSROOM OF THE WEEK: FOURTH GRADE

There has been a lot going on in the fourth grade lately. All of their Pirate Time groups are reading various novels. In language arts, they have been covering verb tenses and reading stories about different types of arts in the world and how they relate to each other.

CHOIR KIDS SING AT MANOR

On December 14, Mrs. Schultz brought the choir on a quick field trip to the manor to sing to the residents.They really enjoy it when the choir sings to them each year. Mrs. Schultz and the students always love to see the smiles on their faces as we sing to them.

HOLIDAY CONCERT

This week was an eventful week for the AHS music department. On Monday night the middle school and high school band and choir performed their Christmas concert. The middle school band started off the night with three musical pieces.
