KAREN KUHLMAN - 40 YEARS OF SERVICE AT COMMERCIAL STATE BANK

By

A very familiar face will soon be retiring from Commercial State Bank. Karen Kuhlman is set to retire Friday, December, 29th. After 40 years of service to Wagner and the surrounding communities, Karen will clock out for the final time. She has enjoyed working at the bank, interacting with the customers and being able to support her family.

Before working at Commercial State Bank, Karen had worked in the Charles-MixCountyTreasurersoffice for ten years. Throughout her time with the bank, she has seen many changes and has worked several different positions. She will retire as the Senior Consumer Relations Officer. Even though some days are challenging, Karen has always enjoyed the work and being able to interact with customers. Amber Von Eschen and Aly Thompson will be taking over her duties.

When asked why she has chosen now to retire Karen said it is time to enjoy life. She and her husband, David, want to be able to attend more of their grandchildren’s events. Karen is looking forward most to not having to set her alarm clock in the morning once she retires. It will be nice not to have to fight the roads during the winter months to get to work. Last winter was a harsh one, and when the weather was bad, Karen would pack a bag and stay at her parent’s house in town.

David and Karen will be staying in the Wagner area. They have two daughters, two sons, five grandsons and three granddaughters. Dan Kuhlman and his wife, Teanna, live in Avon with their children, Maesa and Rance. Joe Kuhlman lives in New Underwood and has sons Korbin and Findley. Jill and her husband, Nick Cotton, live in Brandon with daughters, Camlyn and Harper. Their youngest Janelle and her husband, Mike Bormann live in Mitchell with their sons, Mack and Barnett.

Karen will be taking it easy once she retires, doing some fishing and enjoying every moment she can with her grandchildren.

Commercial State Bank will be holding an open house to celebrate Karen’s retirement Friday, December 29th. Congratulations on your retirement Karen, thank you for all of your years of service in the Wagner community.
