SWEET CLOVER 4-H

The Sweet Clover 4-H club met March 3 at 6 p.m. The Wolf family hosted. President Maddy called the meeting to order. Flag Pledges were led by Lucy and Josie Schloss. Roll call topic was "What's your favorite pop?" and 12 members were present. The secretary's report was given by Whitley Wolf.

10 Years Ago – 2014 Reverend Dan Brandt was the keynote speaker at the Avon Memorial Day Program. Qualifiers for the girls’ state track are Heidi Cap, Kacie Mudder, Clara Beck, Lauren Sees, Amanda Reiff, Chesney Nagel, Cheylee Nagel.

IHANKTONWAN NATION COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS

The Ihanktonwan Nation Community Service Awards were created by the Yankton Sioux Tribe as an annual recognition to honor person(s)/ groups who make significant contributions to the Yankton Sioux Tribe memberships. This service award is given in memory of Richard Leasure.

Rotary News

President Becky Brunsing welcomed thirteen Rotary members to the May 22nd meeting at Noon. There were no guests present except for the program so she called upon Rotarian/Pastor Bill Herrmann to lead the members in prayer.

SERVICE CONNECTED SECONDARY CONDITIONS

This week I want to remind veterans that you could be compensated for service-connected disabilities or diseases and that these disabilities and diseases do not always have to be directly related to military service.

VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER SPOTLIGHT

David Woods has been a volunteer firefighter for the Wagner Volunteer Fire Department for the past 11 years. Woods is the current Assistant Chief for the department. This time next year, Woods will be chief of the department.

Wagner Hospital Auxiliary Meeting Minutes

Wagner Community Memorial Hospital- Avera Auxiliary held their monthly meeting May 22 with eight members present. President Pearl Weber called the meeting to order and members read the Auxiliary Prayer. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.

Greer Post #11 American Legion

American Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting May 16th. Commander Rados thanked the cooks for the delicious meal. Tonya Urquieta was present representing the Older Adult Resource Network program.

Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary Meeting Minutes

Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary held their monthly meeting May 16, at the Post Home with 14 members present. The meeting was called to order by President Linda Youngbluth. The opening prayer was read by Chaplain Margie Stone.

BULTJE RECOGNIZED FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

The 34th annual Academic Excellence Recognition luncheon was held on Monday, April 29th in Pierre. This event highlights the academic achievements of the best and brightest 1% of students throughout South Dakota from the Class of 2024.
