The Ihanktonwan Learning Camp will be returning to the Marty Community Center on Monday July 28. A group of volunteers from Maryland and Pennsylvania will be offering fun and educational activities for children who have finished K through 5th grade. The Learning Camp is completely FREE!! Camp will start at 11 AM and end at 4 PM, Monday through Thursday the week of July 28. This is the same week that the Boys and Girls Club in Marty will be closed, so if your kids are looking for something to do this is the place! In addition to learning activities, arts and crafts and games, there will be prizes and gifts daily and everyone will receive a hot lunch, a snack and a bagged meal to take home. All are welcome to join in the fun.

Read morePresident Jamie Soukup called his first business meeting to order this past Wednesday. There were two guests present, Alison Woods from Juffer, Inc. and Bryan Lubbers of Yankton, South Dakota. Bryan was a guest of Rotarian Ken Cotton. The membership recited the Rotary Grace prayer, and the assistant song leader Jeff Doom announced that we would try to sing “Grandfathers Clock.” This was met with a lot of skepticism as most members had never heard of this song. Doom did a respectable job of leading the group as we stumbled through a tune none of us were familiar with. It is without a doubt a good song but would require piano accompaniment if we are ever to do it justice. Good try Jeff!
