Lori Bouza has been a resident of Wagner for the past 39 years. She has been a part of the Wagner community since 1985 when she took her first teaching position as an elementary teacher at the Wagner Community School. After having just graduated from the University of South Dakota with an elementary and special education degree, she had heard through friends Pam and Marge Weber that there was an opening at the Wagner school for an elementary teaching position. Lori was hired two weeks before the school year began. What was only supposed to be a one-year teaching job turned into a 34-year career for Lori.

Funeral service for Jayden Keith Olson-Zephier, 3 months, of Wagner were held Tuesday, January 16 at the YST South Housing Gym in Wagner. Burial was in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. Louis Otte, 90, of Lake Andes died Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Avera St. Benedict Health Center in Parkston. Funeral services were held Monday, January 22 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wagner. Burial was in St. Mark’s Catholic Cemetery in Lake Andes following the service. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
