The Avon Swim Team wrapped up their season at the Championship Swim Meet held in Platte on July 14th and 15th. Avon had 51 swimmers participate in the two day meet. For the second year in a row, the team scored the most points overall, awarding them Team Champions.
Read moreThe Zion Lutheran Youth Group attended the LCMS National Youth Gathering in Houston, Texas from July 7th – 13th. The ten youth group members attended a South Dakota event, bible studies, themed breakout sessions, and mass events to celebrate how God is “In All Things”. They also participated in a servant event where they built and delivered beds to children for the organization “Sleep in Heavenly Peace.” The event was attended by over 20,000 youth and it provided a great opportunity to learn and grow in their faith.
Read moreFeeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Friday, July 22 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon. This will continue to be a “drive-thru” distribution.
