SHIRLEY SETTERHOLM

Shirley Ann (Lassen) Setterholm, age 89, of Chester, passed away April 3, 2024, at the Madison Hospital from a stroke. Funeral services were held April 8 at the Trent Baptist Church in Trent. Burial will be at a later date at the ZCBJ Cemetery in Wagner.

Shirley was born June 20, 1934, in Wagner to Albert and Gladys (Youngbluth) Lassen. She grew up on a farm south of Wagner and attended country grade school through the 8th grade, then attended Wagner High School, graduating in 1952.

She married Russell Amundson in January 1953, and lived and farmed near Wakonda. They had one daughter, Connie Sue. Russell died in December 1965 from cancer.

Shirley met Duane after a floral delivery mix up in 1979 then married in September 1980, and they made their home in Chester.

Shirley loved family reunions and get-togethers. Her favorite trips were to Branson, Missouri, and the Black Hills with her daughter, Connie.

Survivors include her husband, Duane; daughter, Connie; sister, Judy Howe; brothers, Jack (Jan) Lassen, Tom (Betty) Lassen; five stepchildren and nine step grandchildren; sisters-inlaw, Muriel (Lowell) Bring and Arlet (Phil) Phillips; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell; her parents; a granddaughter; her sister, Lois; and her brothers, Robert, Richard, and Loren. www.minnehahafuneralhome.com
