Memorial services for James Clemens, 79, of Wagner was held Saturday, April 13 at Peters Funeral Home in Wagner. Inurnment was in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

James Erwin Clemens was born February 23, 1945 to John and Lillian (Kreeger) Clemens in Wagner. James died March 20, 2024 at his home in rural Wagner. He attended grade and high school at Ravinia Independent School. He graduated in 1964.

He began farming after school and continued until retirement. He loved fishing with his brothers and enjoyed pheasant hunting. He loved his goats, chickens and rabbits.

James is survived by sister Arlene (Jerry) Bambas of Mitchell; sister-in-law Roberta Clemens of Sioux Falls; brother- in-law Robert Hegdahl of Yankton; brothers Dennis (Barb) and Richard (Linda) Clemens of Wagner; sisters Mary (Don) Peacock of Brookings and Marsha (Allan) Tuschen of Mitchell; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Kathleen Hegdahl; bother Robert Clemens; maternal and paternal grandparents; five uncles and three aunts.
