The Raiders kicked off the season Thursday evening Dec. 1st in Avon with a dual against Bon Homme/Avon coop. This is the first wrestling competition Avon has held in over 40 years. There was plenty of excitement in the dual, one of the highlights coming from Freshman Brayden Kreber pinning his competitor early in the second period. We did not come out with a dual victory but wrestled well as a team. Saturday started tournament action for us in Kimball. The Raiders picked up where they left off, continuing to compete hard. Starting this week, we will be offering a wrestler of the week award to an athlete that has demonstrated leadership skills and high character values both on and off the wrestling mat. Performance in competition will also play a role in the selection of the wrestler of the week. Next week the Raiders will compete in Burke on Thursday Dec. 8th for our annual Burke/ Gregory/Winner triangular followed by a tournament in Howard Dec. 10th.
