We did a great job on the glass and defensively we challenged a lot of their shots with our length and athleticism. We had great ball movement that got us great transition looks and then some excellent looks in the half court as well. A huge thank you to So-Co Pioneer for sponsoring our team meal for our season opener. One last note, a huge shout out to Coach Aaker and the Winner Warriors Girls Basketball team! Not sure everyone stuck around 10 minutes after the boys game but they cleaned the entire gym from top to bottom picking up all the trash in the bleachers! So a huge thank you to them and what a great idea to pay it forward when we hit the road next week to Irene!”

BG/WINNER TRIANGULAR & HOWARD TOURNAMENT

The Raiders continued action last week with a triangular Thursday night in Burke against Burke-Gregory and Winner. Thursday night was a challenge for us as Winner being one of the top teams in the state, but we responded well on Saturday in a tough sixteen team tournament in Howard. Our wrestler of the week, Jhett Breen compiled several dominating performances over the week, winning the 145 pound weight class in Howard. Jhett is also a great leader for our team and excels in the classroom. We left Howard with another champion, Karstyn Lhotak as well as a runner up, Tim Bouza and third placer, Gannon Knebel. Kahle Hill was also just one match short from placing in a stout 152 pound weight class. As a whole, the team competed well on Saturday, and we look forward to hosting parents night Dec. 15th against Vermillion followed by our final tournament before Christmas break in Elk Point on Saturday Dec. 18th.
