LADY PIRATES BASKETBALL RECORD

The Lady Pirates record is now 3-0 after their win over Corsica/Stickney 45-38. Leading the scoreboard was Courtney Sees with 16 points, Rilyn Thury had 8 and McKenna Kocmich added 7. Thury, Kocmich and Lila Vanderlei each had 7 rebounds. Sees had 4 assists and 6 steals on the night.

THUNDER HAS A BUSY WEEK ON THE COURT

ACDC 9 25 34 44 Ethan 29 52 65 83 The Thunder played a tough Ethan team Tuesday night, December 12 as they suffered the tough loss 44-83. Josie Brouwer, Halle Olson and Mahpiya Irvin each had 12 points for the night.

WRESTLERS COMPETE AT EPJ INVITATIONAL

The Wagner wrestlers had a successful weekend in Elk Point, placing four. Karstyn Lhotak and Jhett Breen came home with the 138lb and 165lb title respectively, both pinning their opponents in the championship round.

#1 WAGNER TRAVELS TO #5 SIOUX FALLS CHRISTIAN

The Lady Raiders took another long road trip to start out the season to take on #5 Class A Sioux Falls Christian. Another state tournament team from a year ago, the Chargers brought back a plethora of players and talent.

WAGNER HOST TRIPP/DELMONT/ARMOUR IN HOME OPENER

After two huge road victories the Lady Raiders hosted the TDA Night Hawks last Thursday in girls basketball action. Wagner once again would start out fast with a 7-0 run. Wagner would finish the first quarter 17-7.

WAGNER DEFEATS TDA IN HOME OPENER

In a contest where points were hard to come by, the Wagner boys basketball team found enough offense late to pull away from TDA to secure their first victory of the season. Wagner led 11-8 after the first period, the score was tied 17-17 at the half.

WAGNER BOYS TRAVEL TO WINNER TO OPEN SEASON

On Friday night the Wagner boys opened their season in Winner. The Raiders got down early in the game trailing 18-9 after the first period. Wagner would outscore Winner 16-9 in the second quarter and trailed by 3 going into half time.

LADY PIRATES VOLLEYBALL SEASON STARTS STRONG 2-0

Avon Pirates girls basketball kicked off last week as the Pirates hosted Gregory where they took the win 57-37. Leading the offense was McKenna Kocmich with 15 points, Courtney Sees had 13 and Kinley Doom added 9. Lila Vanderlei pulled won 12 rebounds for the night with Rilyn Thury adding 7.

AUGUSTANA UNIVERSITY BASKETBALL- LAUREN SEES

Lauren Sees is in her fifth season playing basketball for the Augustana University Vikings. Lauren, the daughter of Joe and Janelle Sees and granddaughter of George and Renaye Sees, is in her senior year at Augustana.
