Avon Pirates girls basketball kicked off last week as the Pirates hosted Gregory where they took the win 57-37. Leading the offense was McKenna Kocmich with 15 points, Courtney Sees had 13 and Kinley Doom added 9. Lila Vanderlei pulled won 12 rebounds for the night with Rilyn Thury adding 7. Sees had 6 assists and Lila Vanderlei had 5. On the defense, Sees had 4 steals for the night. The team was 67% from the charity stripe with 4 of 6, 22% for 3-point attempts with 7 of 32, 39& for 2-point attempts with 16 of 41 and 32% from the field with 23 of 73.
