SD crop analysis: Profitability in 2018

Overall favorable growing conditions in 2018 contributed to good crops for South Dakota farmers. It certainly was a challenge to get those crops harvested in many areas due to excess moisture and lack of drying conditions.

Prevent tick-borne illness

Head outdoors and enjoy the spring weather, but keep an eye out for ticks to prevent tularemia and other tick-borne diseases, says a state health offi cial. “We see cases of tick-borne illness every year in South Dakota,” said Dr. Joshua Clayton, state epidemiologist for the Department of Health.
