COME ON OUT TO FISH DAYS 2019
It's time!!! Lake Andes Fish Days is this weekend - May 31, June 1 and 2 with a fun packed weekend planned. The DC Lynch Carnival will be running all three days, on Friday they will run 6 p.m. until midnight, Saturday they will begin following the parade and run until midnight and on Sunday they will be offering rides from 5 p.m. until midnight.
The celebration kicks off on Friday with the Queen and Lil' Miss Fishy Contest at Andes Central Gym at 7 p.m. The Queen will receive a $250 Scholarship. The Doubles Dart Tourney also begins at 7 p.m. at the Lake Andes Fire Hall followed by Karaoke by "Cruz Entertainment" at the Fire Hall from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
The Wicozani Was'te 5k Fun Run/Walk (hosted by the Yankton Sioux Tribe) will start on the day on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. (Registration 7-7:45am) at the old AC High School parking lot. The big parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Main Street with the theme this year "Superheroes". This year's parade marshals are Moe and Mary Jo Parker. Following the parade there will be kids games and if you're hungry head over the Fish Dinner at the Fire Hall from 12 to 2 p.m. The Kid's Pedal Pull will begin at 1 p.m. south of the lumber yard. The ABATE Motorcylcle Show will run 1-3 p.m. west of Duck Inn. The Rib and Brisket Cook Off will be held at the City Park starting at 4 p.m. When you're filled up on ribs and brisket bring the kids over for some Mutton Bustin at 5:30 p.m. south of the Vet Clinic. McKay's Bull-A-Rama will begin at 7 p.m. with the calcutta beginning at 6:30 p.m. Kids Steer Riding for ages 8-14 will be held during the intermission of the Bull-A-Rama with a Calcutta. The evening ends with a street dance at the Fire Hall from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. with "Legacy Entertainment" where Ms. Bullhead and Mr. Carp will be crowned. Mr. Carp candidates are: Trevor Deurmier, Jacob Maynard and Colton Archambeau. Ms. Bullhead candidates are: Brooke Deurmier, Emily Iverson and Bethany Florey.While there join in on the Pong Tournament at 9:30 p.m. Registration is from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The final day of the celebration begins with Coed softball tourney at 8:30 p.m. at the softball field with double elimination. Be sure and enjoy the Youth Group Breakfast at St. Mark's Parish Hall from 9to 11:30 a.m. The ABATE Motorcycle Blessing will be held at 11:30 a.m. on the westside of St. Mark's Parish Hall with the Mayors Ride to follow. The Kid's Demo Derby begins at 1 p.m. at the Lawnmower Race Track with registration from 12 to 12:45 p.m. From 1 to 3 p.m. there will be Bingo at the Lake Andes Community Center followed by the Lake Andes Volunteer Fire Department kids water fight at 5 p.m. at the Andes Central Elementary Play Ground.
