On July 3rd, South Dakota got to showcase our state to not only the rest of the nation but also the world. For the first time in more than a decade, we celebrated America’s birthday with fireworks at Mount Rushmore. The excitement leading up to the event could be felt by everyone in attendance.

The Wagner Area Health & Wellness Consortium held its Best Dam VIRTUAL 5K during the week of June 7-13. Normally, this annual race would have taken place at Randall Creek near the Ft.

The Census figures for Charles Mix County have improved since the article that the Wave printed on June 17th. As of Friday the 26th, Charles Mix County now shows that 40% of residents have completed the census. Lake Andes has had a major improvement from 9.3% to 27%.

Week three of the 2020 racing season saw history made and more first-time winners this past Friday night at Wagner Speedway. With 17 features events over three weeks of racing, there have been 16 different winners.
