WAGNER AREA GROWTH ANNOUNCES JUFFER AS NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPER

Wagner Area Growth is excited to announce that Michele Juffer has accepted the position as the new Economic Developer for the Wagner community. She started in the position on March 8, 2021, and while she is part-time in this position, Juffer comes into the role with big goals and high hopes.

Wagner Rotary Club began its St. Patrick’s Day with a club meeting last Wednesday. President Bryan Slaba rang the bell to bring order to the gathering and asked Pastor Laurie Kidd to offer a prayer.

Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary

Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary met on March 18,2021 at the post home with 9 members present. The meeting was called to order by President Juanita Stone. Chaplain Margie Stone opened with prayer The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.

EASTER CANTATA

The Bon Homme Community Choir is making final preparations for the 2021 Easter Cantata Performances. This year’s cantata is comprised of songs from past cantatas and new contemporary music. Our message is that of “Hope”. In the midst of our struggles and the storms of life, we will overcome.

ROCS PROVIDES FREE TAX PREPARATION

The Rural Office of Community Services, Inc. (ROCS) of Wagner is providing free tax preparation services in South Eastern and South Central South Dakota. Free tax preparation services are available to low-to-middle income taxpayers in the 20 county ROCS service area.

YOUNG’S JAG PROJECT BENEFITS COMMUNITY

On March 10 and 11, Laila Young held a Food & Cleaning Supply Donation. Laila was challenged by her JAG Specialist to do a Senior project which would benefit many people in the community. The Donation was held at Wagner Community School.

Mark Your Calendar! The Wagner Chamber Farm, Home, Garden & Sports Show will be held Thursday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wagner National Guard Armory. This show has something for everyone, so be sure and come and check it out.

NEW 4-H YOUTH PROGRAM ADVISOR

The SDSU Extension Office is pleased to announce that Michael J. Koranda has filled the role of 4-H Youth Program Advisor as of March 1. Michael will split his time between Bon Homme and Charles Mix Counties. Hours in Bon Homme County will be Wednesdays and Fridays with a rotating Tuesday.

Sharon Van Gerpen drove to Hull, Iowa last Tuesday where she had dinner with her mother, Bernice Heusinkveld at Aspen Heights. Sharon's sister, Betty Zoet of Hull joined them for coffee.
