The Wagner Hospital Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on March 24 at 1:30 p.m. with six members present. President Pearl W called the meeting to order and members read the Auxiliary Prayer. Minutes from the last meeting on February 26, 2020 were read and approved.

Greer Post #11 American Legion held its monthly meeting on March 18 at the Post Home. Commander Robert Kucera called the members to attention. Acting Chaplain Mark Wiechmann gave the invocation which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

The American Legion Auxiliary will hold a Soup and Sandwich Luncheon, Bake Sale and Raffle on Friday, April 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wagner American Legion Hall.

National Library Week (April 4-10, 2021) is being celebrated with the theme “Welcome to Your Library.” The theme promotes the idea that everyone is welcome to use the services that are provided by their state and local libraries.

PIERRE, S.D. - Text-to-9-1-1 is now available throughout South Dakota. Wireless cell phone customers in South Dakota can text to 9-1-1 when they can’t callin an emergency. The text, like a phone call, will be routed to a local 9-1-1 dispatch center.

Senior Allyson Janae Hamilton, daughter of Reno (Jade) Hamilton and Jane (Brad) Elle and sister to Taylor, Ella, and Rykr Hamilton and Bradyn and Skylar Elle, was born on January 24, 2003. Ally enjoys hanging out with her friends and her boyfriend.

JOHN FATHKE By Makenzie Sassaman Both of my grandfathers graduated from Avon High School in 1929. Both of my parents graduated from Avon High along with all of my aunts and uncles. Someone with my last name has taught/coached here since the late 1960s.

Recently I saw a patient who had experienced two consecutive days of pain in his right upper abdomen. I questioned him, looking for clues of gallstones, liver mass, or maybe an ulcer in the small bowel, but his answers did not fit my expectations.

Reta Ridgway enjoyed a week visiting in the home of her daughter, Carla and Matt VandeBossche of Lusk, Wyoming. Jon and Lynn Stather were in Sioux Falls last Friday where they had lunch with her sister, Diane Ewing of Sioux Falls and with her niece, Haley Rogers of Brookings.
