Lake Andes Fish Days hosted its 15th Annual Walleye Tournament on May 21st with a boat and shore fishing category. A total of 21 teams took to the water as the tournament started bright and early at 7 a.m. In the boat category, Randy Winckler and Denise Weber reeled in 1st place with 16.

When Riley Houseman was approached about running for Mr. Carp, he said he plans to out preform his competition! Riley says he’s got the rhythm for success which will surely get him the most votes to be crowned Mr. Carp! All Steve Stluka heard was “you get to kiss a fish” and said “I’ll be there!

When Olivia Tiger found out she was a candidate for Ms. Bullhead, she was ecstatic! Since she is the current Homecoming Queen, she is pretty sure the Ms. Bullhead crown will fit perfectly! She knows she has the best cheering section in town, so she has no doubt she will win this competition!

WATERTOWN, SD…The 55th Annual Lake Area Technical College graduation ceremony was held Friday, May 13, 2022, with seven hundred sixty-three graduates.

Bomgaars hosts an annual Ladies’ Night and commits a percentage of the proceeds to help support cancer care in our community. The Wagner Bomgaars store has selected Wagner Community Memorial Hospital-Avera as a recipient to improve cancer care.

Josh Scott and Chass Powers recently opened Main Street Greenhouse in Wagner, offering flowering varieties and vegetables. Mensch Greenhouse, Inc., a family owned wholesale greenhouse operation in Avon is the greenhouse supplier.

Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary met on May 19, 2022 at the post home with 13 members present. President Juanita Stone called the meeting to order. Chaplin Margie Stone read the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance and Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.
