Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary met on May 19, 2022 at the post home with 13 members present.

President Juanita Stone called the meeting to order. Chaplin Margie Stone read the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance and Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer's report was given and approved.

Membership report was given by Barbara Kucera, we have 75 paid members. Goal is 77.

Correspondence was read from the District President Ruth Williams.

Community Service Chairman, Margie Stone reported that appropriate cards had been sent.

Poppies will be distributed on May 27, 2022, which is also National Poppy Day. The following members will be distributing poppies: Barbara Kucera, Bonnie Soukup, Linda Youngbluth, Juanita Stone. The winners, from the coloring and poster contest - Kindergarten - 1st place Ceta Brown Bear and 2nd place Alec Greger and 1st grade - 1st place Lainey Martin and 2nd place - Aciya Iverson. Poster contest - 2nd grade - 1st place Audrey Gabel and 2nd place Braylyn Drapeau. Thank you to all students that submitted entries for the coloring and poster contest.

The Legion Auxiliary will be serving Brats at Wagner Super Foods on June 24, 2022 form 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The state Convention will be held in Watertown on June 16-19, 2022. Delegates are Juanita Stone, Dolores Kotab and Barbara Kucera and the Alternates are Kathy Geiman, Margie Stone and Linda Youngbluth.

Election of officers was held. The new officers are as follows: President - Linda Youngbluth, vice President Alyssa Mathis, Secretary Jeanette Fuchs. Treasurer Barbara Wiechmann, Chaplin Margie Stone, Historian Dolores Kotab Sgt. At Arms Marlene Stone and Parliamentarian Juanita Stone.

Auxiliary members will furnish salads and desserts for the Memorial Day luncheon on May 30, which will be held at the Post home following the Memorial Day program at the Armory. Auxiliary members are asked to wear their vests with white blouse/shirt and dark slacks.

The basket was won by Jeanette Fuchs and donated back to the children and youth fund.

As there was no further business to come before the meeting, Chaplin Margie Stone read the prayer for peace and President Juanita Stone adjourned the meeting.
