Emma Kreeger is the daughter of Chad and Cathy Kreeger; she is a freshman at Wagner Community School. Emma won the local Wagner American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) essay contest and then her essay competed at the district competition, where she also won first place.

One of this week’s featured WCS seniors is Riley Roberts. Riley is the son of Mark and Linda Roberts.

One of this week’s featured WCS seniors is Trenton Rolston. Trenton is the son of Annie and Jerrod Rolston. Trenton has nicknames including Turbo-T and Little T.

One of this week’s featured WCS seniors is Janae Robertson. Janae is the daughter of Jenny Robertson. Janae has several nicknames including Nae and Nae-Nae. Janae’s advice to underclassmen is to stay out of the drama and do not let other change who you are.

It’s human nature to tell stories about the past, and doctors aren’t immune to that impulse. The second year medical students rotating through my clinic have me reflecting on my own years as a fledgling physician, and the changes I’ve seen in my decades of practice.

We recently launched round three of the most successful workforce recruitment campaign in South Dakota history – Freedom Works Here. We kicked it off with a brand-new ad. In this ad, which we’re calling “Building in America,” I get to be a homebuilder.

Tera Koupal was named girls’ basketball lower-level Region 5-8 Coach of the Year for the 20232024 season. When asked how she felt when she first heard that she won Coach of the Year, Tera said she was excited to be a part of adding some positive publicity for the Wagner Community.

The Wagner Community School broadcasting class has created a YouTube News Channel called Wagner Facts. This is not the first time that WCS has had an online student news; the first was created in 2019. Tera Koupal is the teacher of the broadcasting class that is producing the student news.

Becky Haenfler was recently named the 2024 Region 7 Assistant Girls Basketball Coach of the Year. This is her first time receiving this award and her first year of being the Avon girls’ basketball team assistant coach. Becky is not new to coaching though.
