CELEBRATING WCS PRINCIPALS

Even though they deserve to be celebrated and honored every day for their dedication and hard work toward the betterment of the students and staff in the community, one day a year there is a formal celebration for school principals.

WAGNER COMMUNITY SCHOOL SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS

One of this week’s featured WCS seniors is Nevaeh Zephier. She is the daughter of Jewel Lynn Zephier. Nevaeh goes by several nicknames including Nevi and Veah. Nevaeh’s advice to underclassmen is to keep working hard to get where you need to be. The person that Nevaeh admires most is her mom, Jewel.

WAGNER COMMUNITY SCHOOL SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS

One of this week’s featured WCS seniors is Kayden Zephier. She is the daughter of Bethany Drapeau and Todd Zephier. Kayden also goes by the nickname of Kaz. During her time at WCS, Kayden has been involved in softball for a year.

A PERSON TO KNOW – ELEANOR ANDERSH

Eleanor (Soukup) Andersh has been a lifelong Wagner resident. When she began school, she first attended the Big Tobacco country school which was located three miles from the Soukup family’s rural residence.

BRAD POPPE NAMED HONORARY REFEREE

Brad Poppe was named Honorary Referee at the Avon Track Meet on April 12th. Brad graduated from Avon High School in 1986 with a degree in Business. He has been teaching for 37 years. Poppe began his career in Lake Andes and has been employed at Avon the past 35 years.

SOUTH DAKOTA FFA AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS

South Dakota FFA is dedicated to premier leadership, personal growth and career success and is therefore proud to support South Dakota FFA membersintheirpost-secondary education.

SCHOOL BUS DRIVER APPRECIATION DAY

National Bus Driver Appreciation Day is April 23rd this year. The Wagner Community School bus drivers deserve to be appreciated and recognized for their unwavering contributions to the Wagner school and students.

NATIONAL KINDERGARTEN DAY

National Kindergarten Day is celebrated on April 21st each year in dedication to the man credited with founding kindergarten, Fredrich Frobel, who founded the first kindergarten in 1837. Frobel believed that children needed a space to play in and explore their own interests and creativity.
