STUDENTS TO COMPETE AT GENIUS OLYMPIAD

Landon Thury, Megan Gretschmann, McKenna Kocmich and Courtney Sees will be competing at the Genius Olympiad at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. The competition accepted 367 projects from 1014 submissions.

CELEBRATING THE PRINCIPALS OF ANDES CENTRAL

Even though they deserve to be celebrated and honored every day for their dedication and hard work toward the betterment of the students and staff in the community, one day a year there is a formal celebration for school principals.

SOUTH DAKOTA FARM BUREAU AWARDS $8,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS

Riata Bultje, Lake Andes, SD is a recipient of one of the Agriculture Focus Scholarships. She will be graduating from Andes Central High School and will attend South Dakota State University, majoring in Agriculture Education. Her parents are Brice and Darci Bultje of Lake Andes.

DISTRICT FOUR FFA MEMBERS RECEIVE STATE FFA DEGREE

BROOKINGS, South Dakota – A total of 40 members from District Four were awarded their State FFA Degree during the 96th South Dakota FFA Convention, April 18-20, at the Dacotah Bank Center. The State Degree is the highest honor the South Dakota FFA Association can bestow upon its members.

NATIONAL TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY

National Teacher Appreciation Day is always celebrated on the first Tuesday of the first full week in May. This year, National Teacher’s Appreciation Day is celebrated on Tuesday, May 7th.

THE LAKE ANDES NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE

Northeast rural Lake Andes is home to a unique landscape that is a mixture of grasslands and wetlands. This picturesque setting is home to the Lake Andes National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is comprised of 5,639 acres of refuge land and 4,700 acres of lake.
