CHARLES MIX COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Charles-Mix County Historical Society has been busy as of late with some replacement and remodeling projects in the museum. After receiving a generous grant of $20,000 from the Wagner Community Foundation, the Charles-Mix County Historical Society was able to do some much-needed work.

KOUPAL FOUR-PEATS HIGH JUMP STATE TITLE

Ashlyn Koupal attended the Class A State Track and Field Meet on May 23rd through 25th in Sioux Falls at the Howard Wood Field. This was her fourth time attending the state track meet to compete in the high jump event.

ANDES CENTRAL NAMES NEW SUPERINTENDENT

The Andes Central School District will be heading into the 2024-2025 school year with a new superintendent, Clint Nelson. Nelson officially began his duties as the Andes Central superintendent on July 1st. This is not Nelson’s first position as a superintendent.

LAKE ANDES FOOD AND WELLNESS COUNCIL

The Lake Andes Food and Wellness Council has been a part of the Lake Andes community since 2015. The Food and Wellness Council was created as part of a South Dakota State University (SDSU) grant that chose three communities (DeSmet, Lower Brule and Lake Andes) to form Well Connected Communities.
