PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota linemen returned Thursday from the Southeastern U.S. after helping restore power for thousands of people affected by Hurricane Helene.

The Bon Homme County 4-H Recognition Event was held on Sunday afternoon, October 13th, at the 4-H Center in Tyndall in conjunction with their annual Soup Kitchen. Lila Stutzman kicked off the event as our guest speaker.

10 Years Ago – 2014 The General Election was set for the following Tuesday. Over a dozen turbines had been erected over the past week with more popping up daily. A card shower was requested in honor of Sylvia Meiers’ 90th birthday and also Lauren and Sylvia Meiers’ 68th wedding anniversary.

I would like to introduce you to new books written by Kim Michele Richardson. The Lake Andes Library book club has recently read the first book I will describe today and are currently reading the second book by the same author, which I will introduce you to next week.

10 Years Ago – 2014 The Wagner Alco location closed after the Alco Store company filed bankruptcy. R.F. Buche challenged his Buche Food team members to raise funds for Wagner’s breast cancer organization. After raising a total of $6,909 and beating last year’s total, R.F.

Tom Abdouch received an award on October 23rd from the United States Postal Service as a result of driving 1,000,000 miles with no accidents. Tom has been driving for the USPS for 41 years. Congratulations, Tom! Photo by Cindy Krcil

American Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on October 17, 2024. Commander Clayton Rados thanked the cooks for the delicious meal. Commander Rados called for a round of thanks for the cooks for this evening’s meal.
