DSU MAKES STUDENT TEACHING ASSIGNMENTS

MADISON, S.D., January 15, 2019 – Dakota State University student Kimberly Van Winkle is student teaching 1st grade during the 2019 spring semester at Wagner Elementary in Wagner. Van Winkleis an elementary education major from Dante.

SERVING STUDENTS AT COMMUNITY CLOSET

The Community Closet in Wagner served nearly 100 kids on Friday, December 14. Every first and second grade student at Wagner Community School was bussed to the Community Closet in the afternoon, where they were able to pick out one free item from specified areas.

LIBRARY NEWS

On December 4, the South Dakota State Library made it easier for residents to access the 54 Library-providedelectronicresources from home or anywhere outside of a library or school building.

WAGNER ORAL INTERPRETATION AT STATE

With the winter storm blowing into South Dakota on the weekend of November 30-December 1, the State Oral Interpretation Contest had to be postponed to December 7-8. The location was also changed to Pierre, SD.

This Week in Rotary News

President Jerry Weber began the Wednesday Rotary Club meeting on December 5th with an ear-splitting ring of the bell. The President has a “thing” about getting just the right ring tone! He even woke up little William Woods who was attending the meeting with his mother.

HEARTY HELPERS 4-H CLUB AWARDS STEM GRANTS

The Hearty Helpers 4-H Club awarded $200 STEM grants to Andes Central Elementary teachers Diane Deurmeier, Di-Mera Dvorak, Morgan Wieman and Brittany Schoenfelder. These grants were made possible by concession stand fundraising efforts by the 4-H club over the summer.

WAGNER COMMUNITY SCHOOL VETERAN'S DAY PROGRAM

The 2018 Wagner Community School Veteran's Day Program was held November 12. The day began with students watching a video in the morning, followed by Flag Retirement Ceremonies for the Middle School and High School students. At 2:30 p.m.
