RAPID CITY, S.D. - The South Dakota Army National Guard promoted Todd Bartunek, of Rapid City, to the rank of colonel during a ceremony at Camp Rapid, Nov. 23.

Greer Post #11 American Legion held its monthly meeting January 17, 2019 at the Post Home. Commander Robert Kucera called the members to attention. Acting Chaplain Mark Wiechmann gave the invocation which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

NORFOLK, NE - Northeast Community College in Norfolk has released the President’s Honor List and Deans’ Honor List for both full and part-time students for the Fall 2018 Semester.

Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary met January 17, 2019 at the Post home with ten members present. The meeting was called to order by President Juanita Stone. Chaplain Kathy Geiman opened with prayer from the Legionette.

IRS just provided penalty relief for certain underpayment of 2018 individual taxes.

The January 23, 2019 Rotary meeting was called to order with the ringing of the bell by President Jerry Weber. Pastor Laurie led in prayer. Welcome was extended to our guests: Pastor Bill Herrmann and his wife Sue; and Chad and Lisa Peters (also our program).

We look forward to meeting all of you and sharing our lives with you on this journey of life in Christ. I was born and raised on a farm southwest of Norfolk, where my wife, Sue, is also from. We have a daughter, Emily, who is married to Joe Dixson through whom God blessed us with four grandkids.

Women in the Lake Andes and Wagner area are asked to submit their stories about their life on the farm for a new book titled, “The Real Farm Wives of South Dakota.

Wagner Chamber of Commerce January Chamber Meeting was held at Boom’s Restaurant on January 14, 2019. The meeting was called to order by President, Laura Wright. President Wright also welcomed guests at the meeting, Alexandra Warejcka and Cassie Medricky who both work with the Department of Labor.
