Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary met January 17, 2019 at the Post home with ten members present. The meeting was called to order by President Juanita Stone. Chaplain Kathy Geiman opened with prayer from the Legionette. The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.

Secretary Barb Kucera read the minutes of the previous meetingandtheywereapproved as read. Community service chairman Margie Stone reported appropriate cards had been sent. Membership chairman Norma Horner reported 71 paid members, 84 is the goal. Janice Coleman report was given. The topic for essays is how to improve homeless in our community. The date for the District spring meeting is March 24 with the location to be announced. Thank you cards were read from Rock the Food Pantry and from the Pearl Wiechmann family.

Unfinished Business: A discussion was held about donating to the Sioux Falls VA Cemetery. Carol T made the motion to give to the VA Cemetery, it was seconded and carried.

New Business: A discussion was held about doing a soup and sandwich day with a bake sale. Barb K. made the motion to do a soup day, it was seconded and carried. The date is set for April 5th.

As there was no further business to come before the meeting, Chaplain Kathy Gieman read the prayer for peace. President Juanita Stone adjourned the meeting.
