ZELIE ANNE WEBER Alec and Sierra (Svatos) Weber of Lake Andes announce the birth of their daughter, Zelie Anne, born September 16 at 8:22 a.m. She weighed seven pounds and 11.9 ounces and was 20 inches long. She joins older sister Marie (2) at home.

WAGNER UNITED METHODIST CHURCH DEDICATION FOR REMODELING PROJECT

The Wagner United Methodist Church will be having a celebration on Sunday, October 6, at 10:00 a.m. to dedicate our new remodeling project to the Sanctuary. The beginning of Summer 2018 found our congregation with a committee to assume the responsibility of designing a new look for our church.

3RD GRADERS RECEIVE DICTIONARIES

American Legion Auxiliary members Linda Youngbluth, June Stone and Marlene Stone presented dictionaries to third grade students in Wagner Community School and Marty Indian School. There were 75 students in Wagner School that received their dictionary and 17 students at Marty Indian School.

A long to-do list has been on my mind the past four weeks as I travel the prairie; the biggest project requiring the most thought is the preparation of a presentation for the SD Farm and Ranch Stress Summit that will be held September 23-25, 2019 in Chamberlain.

WAGNER FIRE DEPARTMENT HOLDS FIGURE 8

After being rained out on Labor Day weekend the Wagner Fire Department held their annual Figure 8 on Sunday at the Wagner Speedway. Winners of the "A" feature were: 1st - Logan Powers of Springfield, 2nd - Devin Talsma of Avon and 3rd - Nathan Wildeboer of Parker.

Greer Post #11 American Legion held its monthly meeting on September 18, 2019 at the Post Home. Commander Robert Kucera called the members to attention. Chaplain Donald Kotab gave the invocation, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Charles Mix Electric Association of Lake Andes is proud to announce that Callie Frei has been chosen as a “Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week” by KSFY-TV. Callie is a senior at Platte-Geddes Community School.
