BLOOD DRIVE

The LifeServe Blood Center blood drive held in Avon on Thursday, May 27, had a fantastic turn-out! 24 donors registered and 25 units of life saving blood was donated. Thank you to everyone that came out to help boost the LOCAL blood supply!

A HELPING HAND

I am planning to go to Kentucky for a couple weeks in July. I am doing a volunteer mission trip with the Christian Appalachian Project (CAP). People from many denominations will be volunteering there.

4H HORSE JUDGING CLINIC RESULTS

On May 25th the BH Co 4H Horse Power Club hosted a horse judging clinic at 7N Arena near Springfield. There were over 30 young judging contestants from five different South Dakota counties.

Emma and Lydia Yost, formerly from Parkston, now from Wagner were visitors from Monday until Friday in the home of their grandmother, Ethel Reiff while their parents, Matt and Amy Yost were busy moving from Parkston to Wagner.

COLLEGE GRADUATE

Hank Sparks graduated from Harvard University Magna Cum Laude, May 26. Hank is the great grandson of Lavelle and Velma Meiers, Hank and Lucille Sattler, grandson of Denis and Sandra Meiers and son of Beth (Meiers) Hunt and Ben Sparks. Hank will be going to law school.

UNIVERSITY OF SIOUX FALLS DEAN'S LIST

Megan Mudder Houser just finished her Junior year at USF, making the Dean’s list for this past Spring Semester, 2021. Megan transferred to the University of Sioux Falls after receiving her 2-year Associates Degree in Accounting from SouthEast Technical Institute, last Spring in 2020.

June 1911 Mr. John Thesenga is the resting from an illness. Crosby and Floyd Reaney assisted Harold Reaney at the Barber Shop. Carl Schmidt has purchased the H.H. Koehn houae. Lora Holt is leaving Avon and has sold her business to Minnie Stone.

The June 2nd meeting of the Wagner Rotary Club began with a prayer from Rotarian Laurie Kidd. She gave thanks for the blessing of such a beautiful day and asked that we be blessed to walk with joy in our community and to serve each other as Rotarians.
