VOLKS-WALK IN WAGNER SEPTEMBER 11

The Prairie Wanderers Volkssport Club is having a first ever Volks-Walk in Wagner on Saturday, September 11. All are invited to join us in our walk around the town of Wagner. We have a 5 Kilometer route (3.1 Miles) and a 10 Kilometer route (6.2 miles) planned.

WAGNER SAVE THE 4 LANES PETITION SURPASSES 1300 SIGNERS

A petition to support the 4 lane state highway through Wagner has garnered over 1300 signers. The petition was circulated in Wagner and the surrounding area. The petitions were sent to the South Dakota Dept of Transportation in Pierre.

This summer I attended the celebration of life service for Dr. Rick Holm, the original Prairie Doc who founded this newspaper column, a radio show and a television show now entering its twentieth season.

On Saturday, August 21, Clayton Wittmeier, along with Bob and Debbie Ruppelt traveled to Watertown and spent the evening with Karen and Larry Johnson. On Sunday, they all attended a Gelling family gathering at Scott and Mari Perrenoud's lake home near Spicer, MN.

BIBLE STUDY STARTING

We will be starting the Bible study, "God of Covenant", Genesis 12-50 by Jen Wilkin the second week in September. Everyone is welcome! We will be meeting at First Baptist Church in Avon with meetings in the mornings at 8:30 a.m. or afternoons at 4:15 p.m.

FORMER ANDES CENTRAL BOARD MEMBER HONORED FOR YEARS OF SERVICE

Former Andes Central School Board Member Terry Svatos was honored by Associated School Boards of South Dakota for his many years of service on the school board. The Longevity Award recognizes school board leaders who have served 20 or more years on a local school board.
