By

Former Andes Central School Board Member Terry Svatos was honored by Associated School Boards of South Dakota for his many years of service on the school board. The Longevity Award recognizes school board leaders who have served 20 or more years on a local school board.

Svatos served 21 years on the Andes Central School Board.

“Terry’s more than two decades of service on the school board is an exemplary display of his dedication and determination to serving his school and community,” ASBSD Executive Director Wade Pogany said.

“We’re pleased to have had the chance to recognize him for his commitment to the students, staff and community in his school district.”

ASBSD is a private, non-profit association representing more than 850 South Dakota school board members, the 149 school districts they govern and the students they serve. Our vision is leadership to achieve excellence for South Dakota public education through a mission of partnering, advocating and leading.
