The 1st annual Zach Johnson Legacy Golf Tournament was held Saturday, July 23rd at the Bon Homme Golf Course. The tournament was a four person scramble format, with 30 teams (120 golfers), and many family and friends that attended and helped with set up, registration, food, and monitoring.

110 Years Ago - July 1912 Quite a band of roving gypsies came through Avon on Thursday. The women went begging and telling fortunes and the men were driving sharp bargains trading horses. The annual Baptist picnic was postponed to Thursday because of rain.

Avon Public Library held the 3rd session of their Summer Reading Program on July 11th. Thirty-nine children were in attendance. Our guest reader was Sara Hammel from Novato, California. The kids enjoyed the read-aloud, made jellyfish crafts and had jellyfish snacks.

The Tri-County Right to Life group met on Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Dakota Christian School. There were 18 members present, as well as special guest speaker, Deb Pease, South Dakota Right to Life Board President.

The Dante City Council presented the Ernie Kocer Family with a plaque honoring Ernie Kocer for his dedicated years to the City of Dante. He was a City Trustee for 46 years. Along with his Trustee duties, Ernie & Theresa did numerous hours of volunteer work for Dante.
