For years, farmers and ranchers have been bombarded with information they can use to help increase the bottom line of their operations. Most of it comes from the technologies they employ to help keep records on production and/or expenses.

Wagner Rotary Club came to order last Wednesday, October 18th at the Rotary Building formerly known as Piroutek Insurance and before that it was First State Bank.

Feeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Friday, Oct. 27 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon. PLEASE NOTE: Proxy pickup (picking up food for someone unable to attend) is allowed with a completed form.

Thanks so very much for attending our Music Department Tailgate Supper a couple weeks ago. We had an amazing turn out and were able to raise almost enough money to cover the cost of musical tickets for this year's Senior Music Trip.

Deb & Nyla’s Hair Styling has been a part of the Avon Chamber of Commerce for over 45 years. Owners, Deb Voigt and Nyla Raysby, have been in operation 48 and 45 years respectively in the salon industry in Avon. They are both born and raised in Avon with no plans to leave.

The annual District 8 Fall Meeting of the South Dakota American Legion will be held Sunday, October 22, in Springfield for Legionnaires from Yankton, Douglas, Clay, Charles Mix, Bon Homme and Turner counties. A social will begin at 12:00 p.m.

Under the direction of Julie Rysavy, Andes Central once again has a marching band. Marching band teaches the students different responsibilities. It also helps gets students involved and helps to foster school and community spirit.

Banned books week has come to an end on Oct. 7th. This doesn’t mean that the process of banning books has ended, we as an informed public need to continue to be aware.
