The performance of the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE will be held Friday, November 3at 1:30 p.m. at Marty Indian School in the New Gym. The cast of 50 to 60 will be picked from students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Also on October 14th, the high school band, along with director Autumn Schultz and parent Matt Grant, attended part of Hobo Days in Brookings. They were able to witness the Hobo Days parade, at which many marching bands performed.

On Monday, October 16, the Avon volleyball team had their “Dig Pink” night, an event where fans and players alike wore pink shirts. Many people watched the match, both in person and online. The Pirates played well, but lost to Ethan in 3 sets.

The Avon Oral Interp Team competed at the DSU Karl Mundt Oral Interp Meet October 21st. Twenty-four teams were in attendance. The Avon Team received the Class B 2nd place Team Sweepstakes Award.

For the third year in a row, a portion of the monies raised from the sales of the shirts are donated to a local community member who is battling any form of cancer, to help them defray costs of medical bills and/or travel.
