Josh and Sarah (Wiechmann) Beeson of Norfolk, NE are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Mashayla Ann, born November 14 at 7:53 a.m. at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE. Mashayla weighed 8 lbs 3 ounches and was 20.5 inches long.

Godwin Weston and Juanita St. Pierre would like to proudly introduce the birth of their twin great-grandchildren, Roseline Lynn James and Henry Weston James born to Amari Weston and Chaz James. What a great gift!!!

Bailey Lagge was recently named to the University of South Dakota’s (USD) Class of 2023 30 Under 30. In 2018, the USD Alumni Association started this recognition program. The 30 Under 30 recognizes young USD alumni that are making an impact in both their professional and personal lives.

At the South Dakota High School Rodeo State Finals in Fort Pierre during June of 2023, Terran Talsma qualified for the Junior World Finals in the steer wrestling event with a best time of 5.2 seconds. Terran is the son of Ty and Kristin Talsma and grandson of Larry and Georgia Talsma.

Feeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Friday, Dec. 22 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon. PLEASE NOTE: Proxy pickup (picking up food for someone unable to attend) is allowed with a completed form.

Rapid City hosted the 2023 State FFA Leadership Development Event (LDE) competition. State qualifier, Riata Bultje, her sister, Emery Bultje and FFA advisor, Darren DeNeui, traveled to Rapid City December 3-4 to attend the competition.

Students and staff at Andes Central were invited to read books with a Native American theme and/or written by an Indigenous author during November in honor of Native American Heritage Month.
