Individuals participated by “SHOWING YOUR SOCKS TO SHOW YOU CARE”, as well as “SOC-ING, which is positively act of sharing a pair of silly socks to show you care about their mental health and overall well-being. Individuals shared their photos using #sillySOCday.

Read moreOn May 12, Gabriella Weddell was honored with a star quilt and an I pad. This was given by Galicia Drapeau and Greg Fredderick family in honor of Makenzee Drapeau. Seven years ago Makenzee passed away when she was in the first grade. Since then, each year her family donates a star quilt and Ipad to a first grader who excels in reading and in their class. This is a tribute to Makenzee who loved to read books.

Read moreThe 605 Unity JAM is just a few weeks away and the interest in what the day will look like is being talked about regularly. The event is set for Sunday, June 12 at the Wagner Lake in Wagner, S.D.. This event is promoting cultural awareness, understanding, appreciation and acceptance. The very first supporting unity partners involved in this project beyond the original 605 Unity Team were the Yankton Sioux Tribe and the Wagner Chamber of Commerce. The area business community is stepping up to help to financially help make this event possible. The event features a music, cultural demonstrations, games, food trucks, arts/ crafts vendors, cardboard boat races, inflatables, a youth fishing clinic/derby and more.
Read moreNational Hospital Week was celebrated May 8-14. . In recognition of this week, approximately 55 Wagner Community School first graders toured the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital-Avera on May 9th. The students toured different departments, including Physical Therapy; Clinic; Laboratory; Radiology and the Emergency Room. Some students were able to communicate with medical staff in Sioux Falls through E-Emergency services. At the completion of the tour, students were given a treat bag. The tour was conducted by Connie Kaufman with the assistance of hospital staff, along with hospital auxiliary members.
